Severe Threat is Over
March 9th, 2006 by Curtis AtkinsonMost of us escaped today without seeing any severe weather, I say most because Vernon & Beauregard Parishes were under Severe Thunderstorm Warnings this morning. All the severe weather has passed and the sun is beginning to peek out and warm things up. We missed the severe weather by a few hundred miles, which you will recall I mentioned yesterday would likely be the case. Mississippi and points north and east have and will continue to see severe storms. Tonight will be nice and comfortable with lows into the low 50’s and a wind that will be much calmer, in fact near calm. Tomorrow will be a great Friday with highs near 80 along and north of I-10 with upper 70’s along the coast. Showers will be very few and far between tomorrow if they occur at all. This weekend will be pretty nice as well, although a weak rain chance does seem possible with about a 20-30% chance each day. Highs Saturday and Sunday will be in the low 80’s with lows in the low to mid 60’s; that is above normal for this time of year! Monday looks like it will be a bit wetter with a 40% chance of rain and highs only in the mid 70’s thanks to more clouds. Have a nice evening and a great Friday, we are almost to the weekend!!!
