Friday Evening Weather
February 24th, 2006 by Curtis Atkinson
………More Wet Weather………
Scattered showers have returned to the area today and we could see a couple of inches of rain between Friday evening and Saturday evening. The weather service has put out this statement:
… Soaking rains expected tonight into Saturday…
Gulf breezes upgliding over cooler air in place across the upper
Gulf Coast states will maintain an intermittent rain tonight. This
stable rain, in general, will be light to moderate in intensity.
A Canadian cold front will be moving through northern Louisiana
Saturday morning, pushing and lifting deep moisture, now in place
from the previous rains. Showers and thunderstorms will be the
result. This convective rain may be heavy at times. Afternoon
temperatures will be running in the low to mid 60s.
The rains will taper off Saturday evening, as the cold front exits
the coastal waters, coming to end after midnight. Rainfall totals
will range, from about 1 inch across the coastal marshes, to
around 2 inches along the Toledo Bend to Alexandria corridor.
Stay dry, hopefully we’ll be able to get in the Mardi Gras stuff this Saturday. Have a good one and tune into KPLC for the latest on any severe weather.
